Happy – Do 1 Creative Activity that Makes You Ha Happy – Do 1 Creative Activity that Makes You Happy.
.
James W. Hall wrote, “It’s a great relief to me to know that I can actually be creative and be happy at the same time.”
.
Wait. What? I can be them at the same time?
Don’t get me wrong, the soul of an artist (musician, writer, etc.) is intertwined with the need for creative outlet. There were many days that pouring out my tears and soul through music and art was the only refuge against pain. But we do grow and age as people and gain different perspectives and outcomes a long the way. Happiness does exist. When attaining success, it is my hope that as writers and creatives we enjoy it, and share posivity whenever we can.
.
Reading my coauthor’s writing and contributions to our book series makes me extactic. His characters are the soul of our books. The happy and creative activity for me today is to keep writing, get them done, and make sure these works get out into the world.

Writer Wednesday! . “It’s not the writing part Writer Wednesday!
.
“It’s not the writing part that’s hard. What’s hard is the sitting down to write. What keeps us from sitting down is Resistance.”- Steven Pressfield
.
Pressfield defined “Resistance” as all the self-sabotage we do ourselves. He also writes, “Turning pro is a mindset. If we are struggling with fear, self-sabotage, procrastination, self-doubt, etc., the problem is, we're thinking like amateurs. Amateurs don't show up. Amateurs let adversity defeat them. The pro thinks differently. He shows up, he does his work, he keeps going, no matter what.” Steven Pressfield.
.
Even if you’re just starting out or are a few stories in, if this is something you want to do, then show up for your art, do the work for your characters, and keep writing and going so you can continue to show off the worlds you’ve created.

How long have you been doing serious writing? . I How long have you been doing serious writing?
.
I’ve been doing serious writing over the last few years but have been creating stories and worlds since childhood. (I trained in other stuff for years because I didn’t realize I was a writer. 🫣 Anyone else do that?) I love creating a world (contemporary or other) where my characters have to deal with typical things like romance, making lunch, solving a mystery, or even arguing with a friend but all within the midst of fantasy incredible elements happening. I am currently revising/last edits of Book (preparing it for our editor) from our book series. Book 1 and 2 have undergone major revisions and professional edits (Let’s just say we learned much along the way). My co-author is currently finishing up Book 5. I fell in love with our characters along the way. The world is great, based on a real town I grew up knowing, and the fantasy elements are interesting... off-the-beaten-path. But, over time, the characters have become people I’d like to go have coffee with. As an artsy person, I used to be caught up in mostly visuals of the world. But now, I really like reading and writing great characters ... at least now, I try to write them that way.
.
What about you?
.
BTW, Happy Terrific Tuesday!

Write On Writers! . It’s Monday! Get up and writ Write On Writers!
.
It’s Monday! Get up and write for at least an hour today.
.
“To fill the hour and leave no crevice... that is happiness.” Ralph Waldo Emerson
.
I’ve seen you talk about your story, the happiness welling in your eyes as you describe the adventures that await your characters. What is that hour to you? It is you on the road toward finishing that book you wanted to write, toward the completion of your goal.
An hour and place of happiness.

Make it Great! . It’s a rainy and cold weekend b Make it Great!
.
It’s a rainy and cold weekend but I'm letting the fetters of my mind lose to write and create. It’d be great if the books could create themselves, and I can show up to bask in their glow, but this process is part of the journey. If my heroes can do it, trek a difficult terrain and end up doing something amazing; I can too.
.
How’s your weekend?

Terrific Tuesday! Dealing with Fear and Successes. Terrific Tuesday!
Dealing with Fear and Successes.
.
“Our worst fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure,” Nelson Mandela
.
I’m amazed by authors like Bethany Atazadeh, @authorbethanyatazadeh, who approaches a decision to be a writer with excitement. She’s seemingly fearless as she opens up about her writing processes and even encourages other writers in our difficult and fearful pursuit. She gets it and does not let fear cripple her dreams.
.
Fear is a power like any other. But we often turn it inward, flogging ourselves or lashing out at others with it. Fear needs to be transformed. But to do that, it helps to define what it is. Leanne Kallal writes, “My definition of fear is an opportunity for self discovery and self growth; a well of untapped personal power and strength; the gateway from wishing and wanting to doing and being.” You can flog yourself thinking you’re not good enough or smart enough, or... enough. Or you can stop limiting your writing and career goals. Change them by applauding actions you’re taking for your life and future from the smallest to the greatest.
Embrace the journey.
Every day.
