Writers take yourself out on an artist date and create something else to renew ideas. I struggle with this.
As a writer, I want to keep after that story, chasing after it, spending so much time on it that I eventually get stuck. I get defiant, resisting it, and then end up hitting my head on the keyboard while trying finish it, or tearing it apart and hammering at the creative inspiration in desperation to make it behave. The beautiful story spark lessening in brilliance.
It is rejuvenating to unfetter the creative self and allow it out to create. Go paint, photograph, design, sing, dance, chef, draw, but all inspiration, the muse, will find you again.
